On February 28 and 29, Confirel organized training for 50 families from Kampot province on cultivation, harvesting and post-harvest techniques for organic Kampot pepper.
The objective of this program was to introduce farmers to the good growing practices, maintenance methods and organic standards needed to produce high-quality Kampot pepper.
The training also covered the rules for storing the final product to ensure that its quality meets market demands.
This training was possible thanks to the support of the Harvest III project, set up by USaid, the American international cooperation agency.
Mr. Dun Tityarith, the technical consultant for organic cultivation of Kampot pepper from Confirel, led and moderated this training session.
“After this training, we hope that all farmers will continue to share this new knowledge with others to ensure the production of superior quality products meeting the demands of the international market,” emphasized Dun Tityarith.
At the end of these two days, Confirel facilitated the signing of sales contracts between participants and buyers and committed to providing continuing training and working to consolidate the national and international Kampot pepper markets, in order to increase its market value.
